Parker Crimp Maching on a black and yellow background

Think assembling your own hydraulic hoses sounds like a complex, time-consuming process? Think again! Parker Hannifin crimpers make it easy to build reliable, high-quality hose assemblies in-house. Take control of your maintenance schedule and significantly reduce downtime with Parker crimping solutions.

Here's how simple your hose assembly could be with an in-house crimper:

Step One: Gather Your Supplies

•  Parker Hannifin hose crimper

•  Crimper sizing decal

•  Compatible Parker hose and fittings (chosen based on your specific application)

•  Hose saw

•  Hose insertion depth block

•  White paint marker

•  Die set appropriate for your hose and fitting size (Parker crimpers are color-coded for easy identification)

•  Compression ring (refer to your crimper decal whether this is needed)

•  Crimp diameter measuring tool

•  Hose lubricant

•  Calipers

•  Safety goggles and gloves

Step 2: Prep Your Hose

•  Measure and cut your hose length (accounting for cutoff factor, especially for critical hose lengths)

•  Clean/file the hose ends as needed

•  Mark insertion depth using a hose insertion depth block and marker

•  Lubricate the hose (if necessary, according to the manufacturer’s instructions) and push on hose fitting until it is even with your mark

Step 3: Prep Your Crimper

•  Apply a thin layer of grease to the crimper's die bowl for smooth operation

•  Insert and align your die

Step 4: Assemble Your Hose

•  Put on safety equipment

•  From below, position the hose and fitting into the die

•  If required for your hose, place the compression ring on the step of adapter bowl

•  Activate your crimper and do not touch the machine during operation

•  The crimping cycle is complete once the split die ring makes contact with the base plate of the crimper

•  Remove your finished hose assembly

Step 5: Inspect and Verify

•  Visually inspect the completed hose assembly for any defects or imperfections

•  Confirm that your chalk mark still aligns with the base of the fitting for a good crimp

•  Verify your crimp diameter

•  Clean and cap hose assembly
