Triad Booth at 2026 Ohio Safety Congress & Expo

Triad Technologies recently attended the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo (OSC), one of the nation’s largest and longest-running workplace safety events. Held March 11–13, 2026, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, the show brought together thousands of safety professionals, engineers, and industry leaders focused on improving workplace safety and productivity. The expo provided great booth traffic, meaningful conversations, and plenty of opportunities to talk through real-world safety challenges with Midwest manufacturers.

Strong Booth Traffic & Valuable Conversations

Attendance was strong throughout the event, and our booth saw steady traffic from safety managers, engineers, and operations leaders looking for practical ways to improve machine safety and protect their teams.

A lot of conversations centered around everyday challenges on the plant floor. One common topic was extrusion machine guarding—specifically, how to better enclose high-risk equipment while still allowing easy access for maintenance and operation.

We also had a number of discussions around robotic cell safety and personnel detection. Attendees were especially interested in technologies like safety light curtains and laser scanners that can detect when someone enters a hazardous area—helping reduce risk without slowing down production.

Visitors also wanted to discuss the need for better machine status visibility. Tower lights, illuminated handles, and other visual indicators are becoming go-to tools for creating safer, more intuitive production environments.

Safety Technologies in Focus

Several technologies we showcased generated strong interest at the booth:

AI-Assisted Machine Vision
SICK's Visionary AI-Assist platform stood out for how it simplifies machine vision. By combining advanced sensors with AI-assisted setup, it helps teams implement inspection and monitoring solutions faster and with more confidence.

Safety Light Curtains
SICK's deTec Safety Light Curtains demonstrated how modern safeguarding can protect operators without interrupting workflow. These systems stop machines instantly when a protected area is breached—while still allowing efficient operation.

Safety Laser Scanners
The SICK nanoScan3 also drew attention as a compact, flexible solution for monitoring zones around machines, robotic cells, and even mobile equipment.

Collaboration with Key Safety Partners

One of the biggest advantages we bring to customers is the ability to deliver complete safety solutions through trusted partnerships—and OSC was a great opportunity to showcase that.

SICK
SICK’s sensing, safety, and machine vision technologies continue to play a key role in helping manufacturers build smarter, safer automated systems.

Schmersal
A highlight for many attendees was Schmersal’s Door Handle System (DHS), which combines safe access with clear visual status indication—making it easier for operators to quickly understand machine conditions.

Robotunits
The Robotunits Safety Fence System also drew interest for its modular design, allowing teams to build and adapt safety enclosures without complex fabrication.

Moving Safety and Automation Forward

The Ohio Safety Congress & Expo plays an extremely important role in the safety community. With more than 8,500 professionals and hundreds of exhibitors, it’s a great place to discover new technologies, connect with other leaders in safety, and share best practices. The conversations we had at OSC reflect a growing demand for integrated safety solutions—combining machine guarding, sensing, and intelligent monitoring into one cohesive approach. As manufacturers across the Midwest are continuing to invest in automation and smarter safety systems to improve both productivity and worker protection, we are proud to support that shift by helping customers design and implement safer, more efficient systems.
