Machine bending steel tube

In fluid power applications, hose assemblies are one of the most common solutions for fluid transmission. However, they are not the only option - steel tube assemblies can be a valuable alternative for transmission of pressurized fluids, offering several advantages over hose assemblies.

After looking at this comparison, we can see that hose assemblies have the advantage when it comes to flexibility and ease of installation. Otherwise, the case for tube assemblies is compelling. They are durable, cheap, and can be used where tight routing is required.

Tube assemblies can be straight or bent into a wide variety of shapes. Common shapes include a simple 45° or 90° angle inside a plane.  Longer assemblies can also be bent through three dimensions with multiple bends along the length of the hose.

Tube assemblies are useful for tight routings and areas where fluid transmission does not have a direct path. Additionally, hose and tube assemblies can be combines to create unique compound assemblies for transmitting hydraulic power over greater distances. For the part of the journey where no flexing takes place, tube assemblies are utilized. A transition to a hose assembly is added when movement or flexibility is necessary. For instance, up the back of excavator sticks, tubes are used along most of the distance to transmit hydraulic power. However, a hose is included at the end of the journey because the assembly delivers fluid to a rotating hydraulic cylinder near one of the joints. Each portion of the assembly plays to its unique advantage.

Triad Technologies will bend and cut tube assemblies to your exact specifications, deploying either single plane tube bending or complex 3D bending with multiple corners. We offer Parker tube fittings compatible with tube end forming, as well as flareless tube fittings with JIC, O-ring face seal, BSPP, or DIN 24° connectors. We are also able to design compound hose/tube assemblies to help transmit fluid power where you need it most. For manufacturers requiring subassemblies or additional components, Triad’s kitting service can package tube and hose assemblies with the other components you need: fasteners, seals, tube/hose/compound assemblies, clamps, springs, cables, adapters, couplings, valves, and more!

Triad Technologies is your trusted source for hydraulic assemblies, and our steel tube assemblies are a prime example of our commitment to quality and expertise. To inquire about your next tube assembly, contact us today and our Fluid Connector Product Sales Manager, Chris Nusbaum, will conduct an initial assessment to ensure we can meet your exact specifications. We look forward to working with you to keep your business moving!
